Your Customers are Online
The Internet has become an important means of conducting financial affairs. About 58% of home users use it to do their banking, and 55% used it to pay their bills online. Over one half use it to search for information on governments and about health. [8]
People with above average insurance requirements make up the forefront of internet users: households with high income; those with children still living at home; people with higher levels of education; and people in the labor force. [4]
More middle-aged, working Canadians are using the internet than ever before: 66% of Canadian users are between the ages of 19 – 54, and that number increases to 73% for users between the ages of 35 – 54. [8]

Canada is a world leader in household internet access. In 2005, an estimated 7.9 million Canadian households were reported to be connected to the internet. [5]
The national average usage rate is 68%. Ontario’s provincial rate is 72%. Over one half of home users go online to window shop, while 43% order personal goods or services.
From paying bills to buying airplane tickets, Canadians do $7.9 billion worth of business over the internet. [1]
